A thought can become a next step.
You might be planning the weekly shop, talking through a project or working out what needs to happen before the weekend. Task Mafia gives those next steps a home beyond the conversation.
With the plugin connected, ChatGPT can read the lists you have selected, add ordinary open tasks when you ask, and suggest ways to organise existing items. New captures appear in Task Mafia. Changes to existing tasks and lists follow the owner-review flow.
Your people can keep using the same shared lists on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web. They do not need to use ChatGPT to take part.

Connect once. Choose your lists.
- Open the official listing. Use Task Mafia in the ChatGPT plugin directory and select Install plugin. Sign in to ChatGPT if prompted.
- Connect your Task Mafia account. Follow the normal browser sign-in. Choose the specific lists and capabilities you want this connection to use.
- Start a conversation with Task Mafia available. Ask which lists it can access before requesting a change. Your ChatGPT account and workspace policies determine which plugin options are available.
Read the ChatGPT setup guide for connection checks and help with missing tools. If you already have a working Task Mafia connection, reuse it rather than creating a duplicate.
Start with something useful.
Try: “Show me the tasks on my Weekend plans list.” That checks the connection using a list you have chosen to share.
Then, when you want to capture something: “Add bread and two litres of milk to my Family shopping list.” Use your actual list name. New tasks are created when you ask for them; reading a list does not change it.
You can also ask ChatGPT to suggest a better place for an existing task. Review the suggestion in Task Mafia before it is applied. A suggestion does not silently move or duplicate your task.
Your plans. Your access. Your final say.
Installing the plugin does not share every list. You choose the connection’s access and can revoke it in your account. Private lists stay outside that connection until you choose otherwise.
Task Mafia coordinates tasks and people. Your external assistant supplies its own AI and tools. Installing a plugin does not start a background worker or create a schedule. Delegated work needs separate work permission and a compatible host; you review the result and decide when it is done.
Task Mafia is free to start, with existing account limits. It includes no AI credits; your ChatGPT plan and workspace may have their own requirements.
