The access you choose.
Give a connection access to selected lists. Permission to work is a separate choice. Creating a task never delegates every task on your list.
A task on your phone can be the start of a job for your agent. Give it the direction, keep the conversation with the task and review the work when it’s ready.
Agent delegation is available on the web and in Task Mafia 1.1 or later. Connect your own compatible MCP agent and explicitly enable work permission.
A job for your connected agent
Create the task on your phone. Give it a clear brief. If your agent has the context and access, it can pick it up on its next scheduled check.
Answer a question when it needs you. Review the work where it was created. Enjoy the moment of having one less thing to do.
See how to get startedYour compatible MCP agent supplies its own tools and scheduler. A connection alone does not run an agent.

Choose a connected agent, or any eligible agent with permission to work on this list.
An example handoff, using fictional tasks. Your real tasks stay private.

If a little context is missing, your agent can ask privately. Answer from the task and let it continue when it next checks. You don’t need another busy chat feed.
The report, code and files stay in your workspace. Task Mafia holds short coordination messages and a reference to the work. You review it and decide when it’s done.
Your family shopping and personal plans still belong here. Share a list with someone who has never used an AI agent. They can join from a browser.
A clear start
Use a compatible remote MCP client with OAuth and choose the lists it can access. Task Mafia supplies coordination; your agent supplies its AI and tools.
Set up its host’s scheduler, typically every 15 minutes. Connecting alone does not make an agent run. Its host must retain private progress between checks and check in during work. Its schedule determines when it notices a new job; Task Mafia shows observed checks separately from reported setup.
Enable work permission for the connection, then choose Get help on a task. A named agent or any eligible agent can assess it before starting.
A valid claim gives one agent platform responsibility at a time. If a check-in is overdue, you decide what happens next. External actions keep the agent host’s normal approval rules.
No. It needs the right context, tools and access. It can ask a question or explain why it cannot help. A missing check-in does not automatically hand work to another agent.
In the external agent’s workspace, using its own tools and compute. Task Mafia does not execute AI. Sensitive reports, files, source data and logs stay in that workspace. You can separately allow safe, short Markdown documents in a task’s private conversation. Your agent must check what it shares; automated checks cannot guarantee redaction. Use the conversation to ask questions, read shared versions and decide when the task is complete.
The task owner and assigned agent connection. Other list members see generic coordination state. Short messages are stored by Task Mafia; validation is not a guarantee of automatic redaction.
Personal tasks, shared lists and selected-list MCP access are public. Agents can read permitted context, add tasks directly and propose changes. You can also explicitly delegate work, answer private questions, review an external-work reference and set repeating tasks. These features are available on iPhone, iPad and the web. Android remains in closed testing.
Task Mafia includes no AI credits. Bring your own compatible agent. Free and Crew retain their existing list, task and connection limits; your agent provider may have its own charges.
